What transpired at the CM's residence yesterday?
Every Wednesday, a public hearing is held at the Delhi CM's residence. During the hearing, Rekha Gupta was addressing people. Suddenly, the accused slapped Rekha Gupta, lunged at her, and pushed her. Luckily, the wall behind supported her, but the assailant seized her hair.
People present during the incident attempted to restrain the accused. They managed to prevent further assault by focusing on his hands, forcing him to release her hair. This chaotic scene lasted about a minute inside the CM's house.
It is known that the accused hails from Rajkot, Gujarat, and is 41 years old. He is an ardent animal lover and dog enthusiast. His mother mentioned that he was distressed by the Supreme Court's decision regarding stray dogs and thus went to Delhi. For years, he has been collecting leftover bread from neighbors to feed dogs. Neighbors would leave these bread pieces at his home. The accused would then gather the bread to feed dogs and cows. His occupation is rickshaw pulling.
Rajesh’s mother, Bhanu Ben, has pleaded with Chief Minister Rekha Gupta to forgive her son, with folded hands. She offered an apology on her son's behalf. His mother said that he is a devotee of Lord Shiva and had left for Ujjain. He would travel to Ujjain once a month, but when he diverted to Delhi is unknown.
