At a late-night wedding celebration in UP's Sant Kabir Nagar, Sanjay Nishad, the national president of the Nishad Party and cabinet minister, along with his supporters, fell victim to a surprise attack by unidentified assailants. Minister Sanjay Nishad sustained injuries in this assault. Outraged by the incident, MP Engineer. Praveen Nishad and three party legislators, joined by supporters, rallied at the district hospital and demanded action against the attackers. A post on Sanjay Nishad's official social media account claimed that 'Yadavs of Mohamadpur Kathar in Sant Kabir Nagar have attacked Fisheries Minister and Nishad Party president Dr. Sanjay Nishad.'
It was reported that 20-25 individuals participated in the assault on Sanjay Nishad. Following a nose injury that caused bleeding, supporters rushed him to the district hospital for treatment. Subsequently, Sanjay Nishad and his allies staged a sit-in outside the hospital and the police outpost.

The supporters chanted 'Death to the SP (Samajwadi Party)'. They accused the SP activists of orchestrating the attack. Subsequently, the police have detained about half a dozen people, currently under interrogation.

Angered by the attack, MP Praveen Nishad and the party's MLAs along with their supporters arrived at the district hospital and staged a sit-in demanding action against the perpetrators. The district SP Satyajeet Gupta, upon receiving the news, took a report of the incident and assured action, attempting to appease the angry minister and his allies. Meanwhile, Cabinet Minister Sanjay Nishad blamed individuals from the Samajwadi Party for the attack on him.
