Two sharpshooters involved in the assassination of INLD's Haryana State President, Nafe Singh Rathi, have been apprehended by the police in Goa. The suspects, identified as Saurav and Aashish, are believed to be connected to the notorious Kapil Sangwan aka Nandu gang. Their capture was a result of a collaborative operation by Jhajjar Police, Delhi Police's Special Cell, and the STF.
Recalling the event, Nafe Singh Rathi was in his Fortuner SUV on February 25th when he reached Barahi gate, assailants in an i-10 unleashed a hail of bullets on the former MLA. Reports suggest a barrage of 40-50 rounds were fired. The ambush claimed not only Nafe Singh's life but also his security personnel, Jay Kishan's. The order for the hit has been claimed by gangster Kapil Sangwan, positioned in London.
Just two days prior, Jhajjar police had announced a reward of one lakh rupees each for information leading to the capture of three identified assailants in the Rathi murder case. The suspects were known as Aashish, Nakul Sangwan aka Deepak Sangwan, and Atul. The police promised that anyone providing information about the culprits would be given the declared reward.
Threats to the family
Nafe Singh Rathi's two sons reportedly received threatening calls eighteen times from an unknown number. They were admonished not to speak to the media about the murder. This information was relayed by the deceased leader's nephew, Kapoor Singh Rathi, who reported that both Bhupinder, the elder son, and Jatinder, the younger, had received menacing calls.
