The president of All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM), Asaduddin Owaisi, fiercely criticized the BJP-led central government on Sunday over the Wakf (Amendment) Act. He accused the BJP of passing this controversial law with help from its allies. In response, the All India Personal Law Board has announced a grand rally, which will take place in Hyderabad.

During a press conference, Owaisi shared details about the public meeting, stating, 'The All India Muslim Personal Law Board is organizing a protest meeting against the Wakf (Amendment) Act 2025 on April 19 from 7 PM to 10 PM at Hyderabad's Darussalam. This meeting will be chaired by the president of the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Khalid Saifullah Rahmani.'

'AIMPLB Members to Participate in the Gathering'

He highlighted that members of the Muslim Personal Law Board from Telangana and Andhra Pradesh, as well as major Muslim organizations, will participate in this gathering. Through their speeches, they will convey to the public that the Wakf (Amendment) Act is not beneficial for Wakf interests.

'The Act is Unconstitutional'

The AIMIM leader declared the Wakf amendment act as unconstitutional, claiming it violates Articles 14, 25, and 26. Rather than protecting Wakf properties, he argued, this legislation poses a threat to them. He also accused the BJP of collaborating with allies like Nitish Kumar, Chirag Paswan, Jitan Ram Manjhi, Jayant Chaudhary, CM Chandrababu Naidu, and Kumaraswamy to bring forth this contentious law.

'Efforts to Engage with the Wakf Committee'

Owaisi mentioned attempts to engage with members of the Wakf Committee, and if their schedules allow, they might also participate in this public meeting.
