Apple's Big News: iPhone 13 to iPhone 15 Series Now Cheaper

Apple has made its entire portfolio more affordable. The company has reduced prices by 3 to 4 percent across all models, leading to savings of up to 6000 INR for consumers. This marks the first time the company has lowered prices for its Pro models as well. Apple has reduced the prices for iPhone 13, iPhone 14, iPhone 15, and iPhone SE.

You can now purchase these smartphones at reduced prices from Apple's official store. It is expected that other retail partners will soon follow suit and adjust their prices accordingly.

Apple has cut the prices of the iPhone 13, 14, and 15 series by 300 INR, while the iPhone SE's price has been lowered by 2300 INR. For the Pro models, the price reduction ranges from 5100 INR to 6000 INR. This is the first occasion where the company has discounted its Pro models.

Typically, upon launching new models, the company discontinues its Pro models. Previously, only dealers offered discounts on Pro models to clear their inventory when they were being discontinued.

Budget 2024: Easier to Purchase Smartphones, Chargers Also Cheaper

The government has reduced the custom duty on mobile phones and several parts from 20 percent to 15 percent. It's believed that this reduction led Apple to decrease its phone prices. Alongside phones, the basic custom duty on mobile PCBs and chargers has also been reduced.

Currently, imported smartphones in India incur an 18 percent GST and a 22 percent custom duty, which includes a 10 percent surcharge on the basic custom duty. The new budget announcements have provided relief to companies.

Following the reduction in custom duty, imported phones will now be subjected to a 16.5 percent custom duty (comprising a 15 percent basic custom duty and a 1.5 percent surcharge). Additionally, the 18 percent GST still applies. Apple primarily manufactures its phones locally in India, with only a few high-end smartphones being imported.
