Andhra Pradesh's Deputy CM and leader of the Jana Sena Party, Pawan Kalyan, raised concerns over the arrest of social media influencer and Pune law student Sharmistha Pnauli, by the Bengal police. Kalyan urged a fair and impartial approach, echoing that the nation is observant.
According to agency reports, Kalyan asserted that blasphemy should always be condemned, but secularism must not be a shield for some and weapon for others. Sharmistha Pnauli was recently apprehended from Gurugram. She was accused of comments against a specific community in a video.

Kalyan questioned why arrests and apologies are unseen when leaders of the Trinamool Congress make offensive remarks, which upset millions. He asked, is justice and sensitivity one-sided, or should they be universal? In a post on X, the Deputy CM declared secularism shouldn't be a shield for some or a weapon for others. It's a two-way path. West Bengal police, the nation observes, ensure justice for all.
