Amit Shah Discusses J&K Security with Home Ministry Officials

India's Home Minister Amit Shah led a pivotal meeting with Home Ministry officials on Friday to deliberate over the security landscape of Jammu & Kashmir, garnering feedback on the security apparatus in place.

The review meeting brought together top ministry officials, the DGP of Jammu & Kashmir Police, senior CRPF officials, and the premier intelligence cadre to assess the security measures and respond to queries laid forth by the minister.

It is reported that prior to the conference, Prime Minister Modi had discussions with Home Minister Amit Shah regarding the recent assault in Jammu, post which the minister has been in continuous communication with the high-ranking officers concerning the region's security.

Amid concerns over security in Jammu & Kashmir, Home Minister Amit Shah is slated to chair a major meeting on June 16th that will include all officers related to the administration's security, to be hosted at the Home Ministry's North Block.

In last four days, there were 4 terrorist attacks

In recent days, terrorists have executed a series of four attacks over four days across Jammu & Kashmir. They targeted areas like Riyasi, Kathua, and Doda, trying to disrupt the serene peace of the region. However, in response, security forces have successfully neutralized two terrorists in Kathua, while search operations are ongoing for the rest.

Attack on Pilgrims' Bus in Riyasi

The first in a string of attacks occurred on June 9th in the Riyasi district of Jammu & Kashmir where terrorists targeted a bus carrying pilgrims around 6:15 PM. The gunfire caused the bus to careen out of control and tumble into a deep valley. The attack was launched from a mountainous hideout.

Reward announced for the terrorist's sketch

The Jammu & Kashmir Police have announced a reward of 20 lakh rupees for anyone who can provide vital information on the whereabouts of any terrorist involved in the recent bus attack in Pouni, Riyasi. Authorities have released a sketch of the suspect.
