Gujarat Lok Sabha Election Results Live Updates:
With 26 constituencies, Gujarat had its third-phase voting for 25 seats on 7th May. The Surat seat saw no polling as the opposition candidates withdrew, handing over a unanimous victory to BJP's Mukesh Dalal. The state witnessed a coalition between Congress and AAP under the 'India Alliance', fielding AAP candidates in Bharuch and Bhavnagar while Congress contested the remaining 23 seats. Gandhinagar, contested by Home Minister Amit Shah, is in the limelight as he leads the race against Congress' Sonal Patel.
BJP swept all of Gujarat's 26 seats in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, leaving Congress empty-handed. This pattern also echoed in 2014. However, the 2024 elections pose a bigger challenge for BJP, testing its dominance in the region. The counting happening today, on 4th June, will reveal whether BJP retains its stronghold or Congress breaks through.
