Ukraine has shown positive signs towards the 28-point peace proposal prepared by the United States. Amid mounting pressure and diplomatic activity, President Zelensky emphasized that his priority is achieving lasting peace with dignity, and dialogues with America and Europe are ongoing towards this goal.
According to sources, the White House desires Ukraine to endorse at least a framework agreement on the 28-point peace plan by Thanksgiving week. Although explained as a goal rather than a strict deadline, this timeline has been communicated to the Ukrainian government. The US also acknowledges that finalizing any comprehensive talks will be complex and could take significantly more than a week.
"We are experiencing one of our toughest phases:" Zelensky
Addressing the people from his office in Kyiv, President Zelensky stated that the country is facing one of its most challenging times. Ukraine's greatest ally, the US, is exerting immense pressure on Ukraine to compromise with a nation that has tried to subdue and ruin us for 11 years.
Zelensky noted that Ukraine faces a difficult choice: lose its dignity or risk losing its most crucial ally, America. Adopting the 28-point proposal by the Trump administration is problematic, yet if not acted upon, the upcoming winter could be dire. Life without freedom, dignity, and justice is unacceptable, and trusting a nation that attacked twice is unthinkable. The world now awaits Ukraine's response. Ukraine is committed to swiftly and peaceably working with America and other allies to end the war.
Zelensky held extensive talks with American leaders
President Zelensky engaged in an hour-long discussion with US Vice President JD Vance and US Army Secretary Driscoll. He remarked after the talks, “We have explored numerous aspects of the American proposal in depth. We aim to ensure the future course brings dignity and lasting peace. Our teams are ready to work at the advisory level around the clock with America and Europe.”
He expressed respect for President Trump’s desire to end the bloodshed, emphasizing that Ukraine regards every practical and realistic proposal with a positive outlook.
