The police in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh, have swung into action on the mob lynching case. They have filed serious charges against more than a dozen individuals affiliated with a right-wing group, with arrests made of Vijay Gupta, Vijay Bajrangi, and Lavkush. The search is on for other accused individuals.
Let's uncover the complete story...
On May 25, in Aligarh's Alhadadpur, self-proclaimed cow protectors, associated with Hindu nationalist organizations, brutally attacked four youths, including Kadim, Ali, and Arbaaz. They also set their truck ablaze, accusing them of transporting banned meat.
Had the police arrived any later, the bloodied victims could have lost their lives. The so-called protectors even attempted to prevent the removal of the injured youths from the scene. However, police managed to discreetly transport them in another vehicle to the hospital, under the pretense of an ambulance.

Meanwhile, investigations revealed that the victims attacked by the violent mob last Saturday were meat traders and held valid licenses. They were transporting meat from the Al-Tabarak factory and possessed the factory’s receipt. This attack was not spontaneous; it was premeditated for extracting ₹50,000, as evidenced by the vehicle's pursuit and targeted ambush.
According to reports, Aligarh police were alerted to turmoil near Alhadadpur Stadium. Upon arrival, officers witnessed an agitated crowd surrounding the four youths, with three severely injured and huddled against a wall in distress, while the fourth lay near a PRV vehicle. The mob cornered the injured by the wall, but PRV officers managed to shield one wounded youth.
Currently, FIRs have been filed against the accused for attempted murder, robbery, and extortion. This includes 13 named and 20-25 unknown individuals. Today, three named suspects have been apprehended, while one remains at large. The entire incident took place in the Harduaganj police station area.
