Mohan Bhagwat, the prominent leader of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), will celebrate the sacred festival of Akshaya Tritiya in Varanasi by leading a monumental Akshaya Kanyadaan ceremony for 125 young women. According to Dr. Virendra Jaiswal, the regional coordinator of RSS's eastern Uttar Pradesh wing, the event transcends boundaries, welcoming individuals from all sects within the Sanatan Dharma.
Akshaya Tritiya is known for bestowing enduring virtues, which is why the 'Akshaya Kanyadaan Mahotsav' is being hosted under the dignified presence of RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat for the first time in Kashi. A stunning array of 125 altars has been set up near Shankuldhara Kund in the Khojwa area to accommodate this communal wedding extravaganza. It embraces diverse domains of society, including representatives from both forward and backward castes, ensuring their priests preside over the rites.
In a gesture of reverence, RSS Chief Mohan Bhagwat will personally partake in the Kanyadaan rituals alongside over 70 esteemed citizens from Kashi, hailing from various professional backgrounds, upholding unity beyond sectarian divides.
This esteemed occasion will congregate over 5,000 guests and attendees, who will commit to blood and eye donation through pledge forms capturing necessary details such as participants' names, ages, blood types, and consent for eye donation. The festival, synonymous with acts of charity and virtue, has its vows cemented in perpetuity, reflecting a commitment that the organizers yearn to foster as a societal awakening.
Dr. Virendra Jaiswal states that Mohan Bhagwat will arrive at Varanasi Airport around 1:45 PM. He will visit the Sigra RSS office from 1:30 to 2:00 PM and rest there until 4:00 PM, after which he will engage in dialogue with nearly 70 community leaders including businessmen, public figures, doctors, engineers, and philanthropists. All of whom will join him in the Kanyadaan ceremony.
Subsequently, Bhagwat will witness the groom's procession, partake in numerous rituals including the grand entrance and washing of the feet, concluding with his ceremonial address between 6:00 and 7:00 PM.
Bhagwat will personally present gifts to the newlyweds, such as a sewing machine for the bride, a bicycle for the groom, clothes, jewelry, and cash, all secured in an offered suitcase. He intends to bestow these gifts upon two to three couples.
Post-event, Bhagwat will dine at host Dr. Virendra Jaiswal's residence and depart thereafter.
As narrated by the event's organizer, Dr. Virendra Jaiswal, the 'Akshaya Kanyadaan Mahotsav,' occurring near the Dwarkadhish Temple at Shankuldhara Pond in Khojwa Market, Varanasi, promises a seamless union for 125 brides under the auspices of the RSS.
Dr. Jaiswal also emphasized that this collective wedding is an initiative by society's able sectors to assist the less privileged. The celebration will include grandeur in the form of decorative processions and guest participation, with Mohan Bhagwat himself poised to officiate at the Kanyadaan.
