Samajwadi Party leader and former Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav called out the central BJP government's policies in a press conference on Monday. He accused the BJP of imposing inflation on the nation's populace and rendering the youth jobless. The SP President claimed that the BJP played with people's health by administering lethal vaccines without proper examination. He further accused the BJP of instigating family disputes and turning brother against brother for political advantage. Yadav asserted that the BJP has psychologically transformed its supporters into aggressors.
During a press meet at the SP headquarters in Lucknow, Akhilesh Yadav targeted the central government on several issues including electoral bonds. He blamed the BJP-led central government for disrupting social harmony. He stated, 'Under BJP's regime, crimes against women, backward classes, and tribals have increased. Small businessmen were ruined due to demonetization. Scandals like electoral bonds occurred. Substandard medicines were approved for commission.'
Commenting on exit poll predictions, Yadav remarked that a kite flies high only to fall back down after being cut. 'Our exit poll suggests that the India alliance will secure the most seats from UP. BJP made their ministers insult women. Injustices were meted out to women and people in the events like Manipur violence, Lakhimpur incident, Kanpur Dehat, and Hathras case. Elected governments were toppled. They even set their people in the judiciary, getting comments in their favor from a certain section of judges. This time the public is ready for another freedom movement akin to Gandhi’s 'do or die' call,' he said.
Akhilesh Yadav charged that the BJP included criminals in their party. The central government introduced three 'black' laws against farmers. BJP attempted to seize farmers' lands and failed to forgive their debts, he alleged. The SP chief claimed that the BJP has deceived the public with false developmental figures, stating that the youth are once again exclaiming 'Mera Rang De Basanti Chola'. Regarding the stock market, the SP leader suggested, 'The stock market was boosted for the profit of a few, knowing their time is up.'
