AAIB report on the Air India Plane Crash:

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has released its report regarding the dreadful Air India crash in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, on June 12, 2025. The report unveils significant details about the incidents onboard before the crash.

The report reveals that the pilots were relentless in their efforts to restart both engines until their final moments, achieving partial success with Engine 1. However, Engine 2 did not cooperate.

Key Revelations from the AAIB Report

The report discloses that the pilots made a desperate attempt to save the plane just seconds before issuing a 'MAYDAY' call.

What transpired during those vital moments?

According to the report, a mere 13 seconds before the 'Mayday' call, the pilots switched the engine fuel control from 'Cutoff' to 'Run', signaling the initiation of the engine restart procedure.

  • At 1:38:52 PM, the fuel switch of Engine 1 was set to 'Run'.

  • At 1:38:54 PM, the APU (Auxiliary Power Unit) inlet door began to open, starting the engine process.

As part of restarting, the FADEC (Full Authority Digital Engine Control) system automatically took control of both fuel and ignition, indicating a restart process as shown by a sharp rise in the EGT (Exhaust Gas Temperature).
