Tensions rose at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport when an Air India flight bound for Bangalore was forced to make an emergency landing. The aircraft, AI 807, had to return on Friday evening around 6 PM due to suspected fire in the air conditioning unit. All 175 passengers aboard were reported safe.
Information indicates the flight departed for Bangalore, but after a short while, the plane's fire alarm triggered. Consequently, it had to turn back to IGI Airport for an emergency landing. During this period, pilots contacted Air Traffic Control for permission to land. Subsequently, the aircraft accomplished a secure landing. Alternative arrangements were made to transport the passengers to their intended destination in Bangalore.
In connection with the incident, Air India released a statement. It said, 'Air India's flight AI807, en route from Delhi to Bangalore, returned to Delhi in the evening following the fire warning alert. A safe landing was executed. All passengers and crew disembarked safely via the aerobridge. Alternate travel arrangements to Bangalore are being made for the passengers.'
