The AI Impact Summit kicks off in India today, running from February 16th to 20th. This summit will see participation from not just tech sector giants but also heads of state from various nations. There's global buzz surrounding this summit.

The entire focus of the AI Impact Summit is on AI—how it's seamlessly integrating into our lives. CEOs and leaders from AI giants like Google, Anthropic, and DeepMind will engage in discussions. Major deals may be announced during this event.

India stands as a major market for global technology and AI companies. When it comes to AI, names like OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini often come to mind, though there are many American companies with chatbots present in the Indian market.

It’s rare to find an Indian company holding a strong position in this sector. While many foreign companies rapidly gain popularity in the domestic market, no local AI company has reached similar fame. It's not that there aren't local players, as options like Ola Krutrim and Sarvam AI do exist.

In terms of popularity, these don't stand up to ChatGPT and Gemini. It resembles the scenario where India is the largest market for WhatsApp globally, yet there's no competition for WhatsApp within India. Occasionally, some players emerge, but they remain in discussions only, unable to achieve the user base like American companies.

In India, OpenAI's ChatGPT faces competition from Google Gemini and Perplexity. These companies offer their free tools to compete and even provide paid versions as free bundle offers. Yet, an Indian company is nowhere to be seen in this race.

There are expectations of major announcements at the AI Summit, which began in India. Technology companies might forge new agreements regarding the Indian market. Announcements related to AI data centers could happen at this summit, potentially leading to infrastructure investment deals. Last December, Amazon, Microsoft, and Intel pledged to build AI infrastructure and chip manufacturing in India.
