'Crew,' starring Kareena Kapoor Khan, Tabu, and Kriti Sanon, is performing well at the box office, with Trupti Khamkar making an appearance in a supporting role. In a recent interview, Trupti opened up about the injustices she faced from the filmmakers and the challenges she encountered during filming.
Trupti's Statement
Trupti spoke about how distasteful incidents during the shoot impacted her. She was expected to consolidate 12 hours of work into just 30 minutes, and this rushed request usually came after the lead cast had left the set. Spending the day memorizing her lines off to the side, Trupti rarely got the opportunity to perform with the cast, revealing a grim view behind the glamorous screen.
In conversation with Zoom, Trupti said, "I was given lines without a proper script. This often happens when you work with big stars. Once they leave, it's our turn to work. Despite a 12-hour shift, cameras focus only on them. I would memorize my lines on the sideline, only to be told at the last half-hour to act. It was disheartening, but I completed my lines in that short span. It was a task accomplished against all odds."
Quoting her experience on 'Crew,' Trupti shared that supporting actors are ready to meet any challenge and commandeer it to success. Clinging to her roles without proper lines or a script, she observed every scene closely, leveraging it as a rich learning experience. Despite a Master's degree in theater, real learning came from on-set training—staying attentive throughout the day, scrutinizing scenes, and memorizing them. Without lines, you're bound to learn on your feet and deliver despite no script.
"You watch others deliver their lines and then, through your acting, find ways to express those unsaid words. Post 'Crew,' I feel prepared for any challenge, buoyed by the formidable lessons gleaned on set,” Trupti affirmed.
