Following the demise of Uttar Pradesh's mafia don Mukhtar Ansari, his eldest son, Abbas Ansari, is haunted by the fear of being poisoned in jail. Abbas has voiced concerns that the perpetrators behind his father's murder may conspire with the jail administration to poison him. The claim of poison being mixed into his father’s food had surfaced just days before Mukhtar Ansari's death in Banda Jail.
Abbas Ansari's lawyer, Liyaqat Ali, brought this matter to attention. He indicated that security within the prison constitutes a significant challenge. Consequently, the CJM of Ghazipur mandated the Kasganj jail administration to conduct a food inspection under camera surveillance.
Abbas Ansari was transferred to Kasganj Jail following the expiration of his three-day interim bail granted by the Supreme Court. At 4:38 AM, he had left for Kasganj Jail. His bail was conditional upon visiting his father's grave to offer Fatiha prayers.
Abbas reached Ghazipur on April 10. After arriving at his residence, he proceeded to the Kalibagh Cemetery to recite Fatiha at the grave of Mukhtar Ansari. Following the Supreme Court's order, he was shifted to Kasganj Jail on April 13.
It's noteworthy that Mukhtar Ansari, who was lodged in Banda Jail, was rushed to the hospital following a sudden deterioration in health, where he passed away. The postmortem report attributed his death to a cardiac arrest.
