Recently, in Etawah, Uttar Pradesh, a shocking crime came to light. The charred remains of a 47-year-old engineer, Raghavendra Singh Yadav, were found on a cot. Initially, his wife attributed the tragedy to a short circuit, but a deeper investigation revealed a chilling murder plot. Astonishingly, his wife and girlfriend conspired together in this horrific act, fabricating a false narrative to mislead the police. Raghavendra's girlfriend lived in the same house as a tenant.

Raghavendra, residing in the Civil Line area in Etawah, was allegedly blackmailing his girlfriend and also had a troubled marriage. Both women, exasperated with his behavior, decided to remove him from their lives. On the fateful night, upon his return home, his wife and girlfriend cunningly laced his meal with a drug.

After Raghavendra succumbed to unconsciousness, they violently attacked him with a pestle, inflicting severe injuries. Later, they set the cot and quilt on fire, leaving the scene as an accident. The next morning, the wife claimed a short circuit sparked the fatal fire.

The police, arriving at the scene, took the body for postmortem. Discrepancies in the wife’s account and autopsy results fueled suspicions, leading to a deeper probe that unearthed the affair and marital discord.

Confronted with these contradictions, the wife eventually confessed under pressure, implicating herself in the crime. However, the girlfriend remains at large. Raghavendra worked in Delhi, routinely visiting his family home during leave.

Etawah's Senior Superintendant Sanjay Kumar stated that Raghavendra's affair involved exploitative photographs, which he used for blackmail. The investigation confirmed the domestic abuse he inflicted, compelling both women to orchestrate his demise.

According to police, the wife divulged that her husband frequently subjected her to abuse, a catalyst for plotting his murder. On the night of the incident, after a fair visit, they administered a sedative to Raghavendra and bludgeoned him with a metal pestle. Ensuring he was incapacitated, they set the cot ablaze to stage the death as accidental.

The girlfriend, a tenant, became acquainted with Raghavendra at his home. Their relationship developed under these circumstances, leading Raghavendra to secretly photograph and exploit her. His dual coercion and abusive tendencies drove the women to their drastic measures.
