In September 2021, a massive narcotics haul at Gujarat's Mundra Port shocked agencies nationwide. The drugs, transported in a container weighing 3000 kilograms, remain shrouded in mystery as investigations continue. Now, a similar major drug capture has occurred in Delhi, heightening concerns with the largest seizure on record for the city.

Police Had Eyes on the Operation for Three Months

Indeed, Delhi Police had been laboring on this case for three months, combing through numerous leads and surveilling multiple individuals. The perseverance paid off when the Special Cell uncovered a significant international drug trafficking module led by Tushar in Delhi.

Seizure of 560 Kilograms of Cocaine and 40 Kilograms of Marijuana

According to Special Cell's Additional Commissioner Pramod Kushwaha, alongside 560 kilograms of cocaine, 40 kilograms of marijuana valued at 20 crores were seized, smuggled into Delhi from Phuket via a flight. The seed of this investigation was sown three months ago through central agencies revealing a vast drug trafficking module spanning the nation.

A Warehouse at Mahipalpur was the Hidden Stash

When Delhi Police began assembling information on this module, they discovered a warehouse in Mahipalpur housing cocaine. Their raid on Tuesday evening identified a suspect being watched, who was caught red-handed receiving the drugs.

Arrests of Himanshu and Aurangzeb

During the operation, 15 kilograms of cocaine were recovered, leading to the arrests of Himanshu and Aurangzeb, who traveled from Mumbai's Kurla. They were supplying cocaine to Bharat, a local buyer. Further interrogation revealed cocaine was hidden in a nearby warehouse, concealed within clothing boxes.

Cocaine Hidden in Clothing Boxes

The team was astounded at the warehouse, finding 23 large boxes filled with 560 kilograms of cocaine. Delhi Police stated the international market values a kilogram at approximately 10 crores, valuing the seized 560 kilograms at 5600 crores.

The Journey of Cocaine to Delhi

Investigations revealed the cocaine traveled from various countries, eventually arriving at the Mahipalpur warehouse in Delhi. From there, a distribution chain was established, involving Bharat from Mumbai's Kurla, who came to purchase cocaine worth 150 crores.

Transactions in Cryptocurrency

This drug operation was conducted using cryptocurrency rather than cash. There's speculation that the smugglers targeted large concerts scheduled in Delhi and Mumbai in the coming months, prompting further investigation.

Who is Tushar, the Alleged Kingpin?

Delhi Police identified Tushar, a Vasant Vihar resident, as the module's head in Delhi. His father runs a major publication business in Pahar Ganj and Daryaganj, and Tushar, around 40, is educated, fanciful about luxury cars, and partners with Himanshu. While Aurangzeb handled logistics, Tushar owned the implicated warehouse.

Who is the Real Mastermind?

The entire lot of cocaine was brought to Delhi within a week, destined for distribution beyond the city. Although no narcotics trailer angle has emerged yet, the police are leaving no stone unturned in ascertaining the true mastermind orchestrating this module. Four traffickers have been detained, as the interrogation intensifies.
