In the wake of the tragic plane crash in Ahmedabad, Western Railway has taken swift action to accelerate relief and rescue operations. The Railway’s dedicated medical team along with the Railway Protection Force (RPF) have been immediately dispatched to the site. A combination of six doctors, 20 medical staff, and seven ambulances have been mobilized from the divisional railway hospitals in Sabarmati, Vatva, and Ahmedabad, ensuring timely medical care for the injured. Concurrently, the RPF's disaster management team collaborates with other agencies at the scene, focussing on relief efforts.

Western Railway's Ahmedabad division is fully prepared to extend any necessary support. According to officials, plans are underway to schedule special trains in response to this incident. Preparations are being made to operate one special train each from Ahmedabad to Mumbai and Delhi.
Committed to Supporting State Government Efforts
The railway has pledged full support to the state government, ensuring additional special trains are made available if required. Coordinated efforts for relief work are progressing rapidly. It should be noted that Air India's Flight AI-171 crashed shortly after takeoff. The aircraft had 232 passengers and 12 crew members onboard, leading to smoke engulfing the area post-incident. In response, Western Railway has promptly executed relief operations with utmost sensitivity and urgency.
