On a Friday night in Muzaffarpur's Gayaghat, groom Raj eagerly approached Dhum Nagar with his entourage, amidst music and celebration, for his nuptials. Welcomed at the bride's doorstep, the groom and guests were treated to a feast. Yet, at the crucial moment of the garland exchange, the groom refused to proceed upon seeing the bride.
Instantly, a ruckus ensued when the groom laid eyes on the bride before the ceremony. Amidst confusion, the bride's family remained calm while the groom accused them of swapping the bride. It turned out to be the bride's younger sister on stage, bewildering the guests and leaving them questioning how such a swap could happen at the last minute.
Disliking the wedding gown, the bride was unwilling to proceed
In the midst of the dispute, local police were summoned by the groom's side. The truth unfolded: Tuntun Kumar from Gayaghat was set to marry Sapna Kumar from Dhum Nagar Bakhri. Upon the procession's arrival, Sapna, disenchanted with her gown, bluntly refused to wed. Despite her parents' persuasion, she stood firm against marriage.
The younger sister stepped in for the exchange ceremony
When Sapna firmly declined marriage, her younger sister was readied and sent for the garland exchange. Tuntun noticed the bride appeared different upon her arrival on stage. He rejected the exchange and called the police. The local police from Baruraj station intervened, yet the commotion persisted, and all involved were brought to the station.
Subsequently, under the initiative of Station Head Sanjeev Kumar Dubey at the station's Santoshi Mata Temple, Tuntun and Sapna were finally wed. After extended discussions, the preferred bride and groom were married amid police presence, with all ceremonies from the offering to the farewell duly conducted. Station Head Sanjeev Kumar Dubey himself blessed and bid farewell to the newlyweds with gifts and well-wishes.
