Before signing a mineral deal, Trump and Zelensky met in the Oval Office. After Trump rebuked the Ukrainian president for "gambling with World War III," a heated argument ensued. Zelensky questioned Trump's partiality towards Russia and advised against trusting promises from the Russian president, pointing out that the U.S. should not make deals with a "killer."

Following the fiery exchange, Trump abruptly canceled the meeting, and Zelensky left the White House without signing the mineral agreement. U.S. officials stated that the Ukrainian leader was asked to leave.

Conversely, Zelensky asserted that Ukraine desires a just and lasting peace, and the country is on its way to achieving it. He also thanked the U.S. administration and the American people for their support.
