In Basti district of Uttar Pradesh, a storm wreaked havoc on a Muslim couple's wedding, washing away the hopes of the bride and groom. Just before the wedding began, a fierce storm carried away the entire tent. Chairs scattered wildly, and even the groom's traditional headgear was swept away. He stood far from the mandap in disbelief as the storm wreaked chaos within minutes.
Initially, it seemed the ceremony might not proceed, but fortunately, the weather calmed after an hour, and the wedding was completed successfully. The qazi was called urgently, and after the quick exchange of vows, the marriage was hastily solemnized. However, the decorations were in disarray, leaving the event lacking some anticipated grandeur.
The groom, from the Muslim community in Bhatapar village of the Walterganj police station area in Basti, set out for the wedding in Nanku Pur village with a musical procession. As they reached the bride's home, the weather began deteriorating. Just as the bride was to take the stage for the vows, a severe storm hit.
Panic ensued under the wedding tent. The storm was so intense that it blew away the marquee in no time, along with the chairs. Even the groom's turban got whisked away. The biggest challenge faced the guests who braced the elements, standing firm to hold the tent in place until the storm passed.

The guests who were supposed to enjoy delicious dishes had to defy the storm by holding onto the tent's pillars to ensure the ceremony continued safely. In the end, their persistence paid off, and albeit delayed, the wedding was successfully completed. Videos of the incident have gone viral on social media, with some taking it lightly while others applauding the guests' courage.
