UP: Instagram Friendship Leads to Minor's Abduction, 500,000 Ransom Demanded, Two Arrested

Two suspects were arrested in Ghaziabad for kidnapping a minor girl and demanding ransom. They befriended her on Instagram, extorted money, and demanded 500,000 from her family. The girl is safely recovered, and the investigation is ongoing.

A troubling case of abduction and ransom of a minor girl has emerged from Ghaziabad, with police apprehending two suspects. It is reported that the minor befriended strangers on social media, leading to her kidnapping.

According to the police, a boy named Kunam befriended a minor girl on Instagram. Following their friendship, he blackmailed her, extracting millions in money. Allegedly, accused Kunal summoned the girl for a meeting and then, along with his minor accomplice, demanded a ransom of 500,000 from the girl's family.

When the girl's father reported her disappearance and the ransom demand to the police, the local authorities acted swiftly. A case was registered at the Shalimar Garden police station following the abduction. The police formed multiple teams and successfully recovered the minor girl safely in Delhi.

Two Suspects Arrested by Police

DCP Trans Hindon, Nimish Patil, revealed that the arrested suspects had similarly befriended several other girls and blackmailed them for money and jewelry. DCP advised exercising extreme caution while befriending strangers on social media to avoid such incidents. Families should monitor their children's social media activities to prevent such occurrences in the future.
