Can Diet Cure Cancer? Sidhu's Viral Statement:
Navjot Singh Sidhu, a prominent politician and former cricketer, recently went viral on social media with a claim that a special home diet cured his wife's cancer. However, Dr. C.S. Pramesh, Director of Tata Memorial Hospital, has advised cancer patients against trusting such 'unverified treatments'.
In a press conference, Sidhu mentioned that avoiding sugar and dairy products, while consuming turmeric and neem, was highly effective in curing his wife's cancer. In response, Dr. Pramesh stated that there is no substantial scientific evidence backing these claims. He shared a statement signed by 262 current and former cancer experts from the hospital, asserting that no clinical data supports cancer being cured by turmeric and neem.
Sidhu further mentioned that his wife, battling stage-4 cancer, was given a mere 5% chance of survival by their doctors. According to him, through a simple diet, structured lifestyle, and strict avoidance of sugar and carbohydrates, alongside intermitted fasting, she was discharged from the hospital in just 40 days. He credited turmeric water, neem water, apple cider vinegar, and lemonade with aiding her recovery.
Cancer experts from Tata Memorial have urgently advised against relying on 'unverified treatments' for such a serious illness. They emphasized that early detection and standardized treatments like surgery, radiation, and chemotherapy are crucial for successful outcomes.
Dr. Pramesh shared a clip of Sidhu's press conference on social media platform X, cautioning people not to be misled by such claims. He highlighted that these statements are non-scientific and Misleading. Navjot Kaur indeed underwent surgery and chemotherapy, which attributed to her cancer-free state today, rendering the claims about turmeric and neem's healing properties baseless.
