Tragic Road Accident in Maharashtra: Bus Overturns Trying to Avoid Motorcyclist, 9 Killed

A tragic road accident in Gondia, Maharashtra, has claimed nine lives, leaving many others seriously injured. In an attempt to avoid a motorcyclist, the Shivshahi bus of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) overturned.

The incident occurred between 12 and 12:30 PM on Friday. The bus was en route from Nagpur to Gondia. According to reports, just as the bus was about to negotiate a curve, a motorcycle suddenly came into view. The driver made a sudden attempt to avoid the motorcyclist, causing the speeding bus to overturn. At the time of the accident, the bus was carrying more than 35 passengers.

Eyewitnesses reported that some passengers died on the spot while others suffered severe injuries. Immediately after the mishap, the bus driver fled the scene. Passersby alerted the authorities, after which ambulances and police arrived at the scene. The injured passengers were rushed to a nearby government hospital for treatment. Efforts are underway with the help of a crane to remove the overturned bus. Police have commenced an investigation to ascertain the exact cause of the accident.
