Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar expressed his unwavering dedication to his hometown of Ramanagara, stating, 'This is where I was born, where I'll live, and where I'll die.'

At a ceremony celebrating Devraj Urs in Ramanagara, he expressed his deep-rooted connection to the area. 'I've been born from this soil, and I'll stay and depart from here. I seek nothing from this district but to empower its local population,' he declared.

Addressing criticisms, DK Shivakumar remarked, 'Some accuse me of renaming the district for real estate interests. I live a life guided by principles, ensuring my actions benefit the district's residents. We've already resolved to develop plots on 100 acres for the needy, issuing instructions to officials to clear Bagair Hukum and other lands.'

He noted, 'Divine providence has given me the chance to serve. What use is power if I cannot aid my people? We’ve distributed approximately 100 acres in Kanakapura and granted Bagair Hukum lands to 8,000 beneficiaries. DK Suresh is entrusted with overseeing these responsibilities.'

Critiquing past leadership, DK Shivakumar mentioned, 'Kumaraswamy served twice as Chief Minister from this constituency, yet never allocated plots to the people. Why continue in politics if they won't serve? The Janata Dal has missed its political opportunity here. Ex-Minister Ashwath Narayan challenged our resolve, yet couldn't release a single plot. The BJP, in power, failed the people.'

He honored Devraj Urs, who introduced numerous initiatives elevating the impoverished and ensuring social justice. Despite his royal lineage, Urs tirelessly worked for the underprivileged, uplifting every community through secular means.
