Ever find yourself at a getaway destination only to have your plans washed out by unexpected rain? One Singaporean hotel has launched a special offer to prevent these situations from spoiling your expenses. According to a CNN report, the hotel will cover one night's stay if rain ruins your day. It's notable since Singapore experiences rain for nearly half of the year, making this offer rather substantial. The InterContinental Singapore is taking steps to ensure that their guests' vacations remain enjoyable, no matter the weather.
The hotel's General Manager Andreas Kramer told CNN, 'One day I was discussing luxury traveling with friends, and one offhandedly joked that guaranteeing good weather would be the ultimate luxury. That sparked the idea for this unique offer at our hotel.'
However, there's a catch to the Rain Resistant Bliss package; it's only available for guests staying in suites. According to the outlet, a night in a junior suite starts at $633 (approx. ₹52,000), and a presidential suite can cost up to $3,349 (approx. ₹2.2 lakh). Another condition for this offer is the need for more than 120 cumulative minutes of rain between 8 a.m. and 7 p.m. within any four-hour block. For example, the hotel explains that if it rains continuously from 4:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. (90 minutes) and then from 6:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. (30 minutes), a voucher will be activated.
The hotel states on its website, 'The Rain Protection Insurance Package is specially available for Junior Suites, One-Bedroom Suites, Royal Suites, Ambassador Suites, and Presidential Suites starting at SGD$850++ per room per night. If rain cancels your plans, you'll receive a rebate voucher for one night's room rate.' InterContinental Singapore also said that vouchers would be issued within seven working days after weather data is published by the Singapore National Environment Agency. Plus, people can use the voucher within six months from the date of issue.
