Imagine the distress of a woman returning from a holy dip at Mahakumbh, only to discover her bathing video was secretly recorded and posted on social media. This is a haunting reality many might never have anticipated. Government statistics show over 500 million participants in Mahakumbh, with millions joining daily, smartphones in hand. Keeping track of who is clicking pictures or recording videos is nearly impossible.
Our story delves into a disturbing trend where a large-scale sharing of videos and images of women bathing at Mahakumbh circulates on social media. Not only are they shared, but they're also sold for profit.

Amongst the throngs, a girl bathes in the river, unaware her lifted kurta is being filmed, with the camera lingering deliberately on the exposed area. Such videos flood Facebook, YouTube, and Instagram under hashtags like '#Mahakumbh2025', '#GangaSnan', and '#PrayagrajKumbh'. Alarmingly, some accounts use these as bait to direct viewers to pornographic Telegram channels.

It's crucial to mention many of these videos and images are outdated and not linked to Kumbh or Prayagraj. Yet, they are still shared under the guise of Mahakumbh.
Some individuals shamelessly boast collections of over 50 videos of this nature.

Telegram serves as the platform where certain individuals profit from selling these videos.
For instance, we came across two Telegram channels openly selling these videos. They invite users to pay for access to groups with extensive collections of such videos. Some group names include 'Ganga River Open Bathing Group', 'Hidden Bath Videos Group', and 'Open Bath Videos Group'.

Many videos and images show women changing clothes covered by towels, with exposed body parts obscured in red to entice users to pay for full access in private groups.

Some channels even streamed CCTV footage of private women’s checkups in hospitals, further exacerbating this issue.
