In a dramatic turn of events, Bengaluru police have arrested Nikita Singhaniya, who was living separately from her husband Atul Subhash, her mother, Nisha, and brother, Anurag, in connection with inciting his suicide. Nikita was arrested from Gurugram, while her mother and brother were detained in Prayagraj. Atul had previously accused them of harassment and extortion, which led him to take this extreme step. All the accused have been presented in court and are currently under judicial custody.
On Friday, the police affixed a notice at Nikita's residence in Jaunpur, demanding their statement within three days. Meanwhile, an interim bail application has been filed on behalf of Nikita, her mother Nisha, and brother Anurag at the Allahabad High Court.
Atul Left a 23-Page Suicide Note
Atul Subhash, an AI engineer, alongside a video, left behind a detailed 23-page suicide note outlining the series of unfortunate events since his marriage. The note elaborated on how he was allegedly driven to suicide by various accusations, including dowry harassment and attempted murder, leveled against him by his wife Nikita, her mother, brother Anurag, and uncle Sushil.
Notice Pinned by Police
A police team from Bengaluru visited Jaunpur, Uttar Pradesh, to paste a notice at Nikita's house after finding it locked. It's speculated that Nisha and Anurag had left in the night just before the police's arrival. This notice ordered them to appear for statements regarding the pending case lodged in Bengaluru.
Litigations Against Atul Subhash
Atul faced five lawsuits initiated by Nikita at the Jaunpur court, including divorce and withdrawal of murder and assault accusations at CJM court. Presently, three cases are still ongoing, with one particularly concerning dowry harassment and assault, scheduled for a hearing on January 12, 2025.
Last Words on the Wall
Atul was residing on the second floor of the Delphinium Residency Apartments in Bengaluru. He was found dead in his room, where he had affixed two significant notes on the wall. One read in bold letters, 'Justice Is Due,' while the other, written in fine print, listed 32 tasks he aimed to accomplish before his demise, titled 'Final Task Before Liberation.'
Originating from Bihar, Atul Subhash held a position at Mahindra & Mahindra in Bengaluru as Deputy General Manager. He married Nikita Singhaniya in 2019.
