As questions rise over the encounter in Badlapur, Maharashtra, political tensions have equally escalated. Mumbai now hosts posters of Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis boasting the message—'Revenge Complete.' These posters are scattered throughout the city.
Fadnavis Holding Gun on Posters
The posters depict Fadnavis holding a gun. Another poster reads, 'This is the kind of justice for those who commit atrocities against women in Shivaji Maharaj's Maharashtra.' The identity of those responsible for these posters remains unknown, and no party name is mentioned on them.
Meanwhile, a Shiv Sena leader has placed an advertisement in a local newspaper featuring an image of Maharashtra CM Eknath Shinde. The accompanying text reads, 'The one who delivers justice to our children.'
Posters Presented in Court by Lawyer
Akshay Shinde, accused in the Badlapur sexual exploitation case, was killed in the encounter. His father has contested the police encounter and approached the court, alleging his son was killed in a staged encounter. During the court hearing, Akshay Shinde's father's lawyer presented Fadnavis's posters before the court.
Court Questions Police
In the hearing on the Badlapur encounter, the Bombay High Court fired a slew of questions at the police. The High Court inquired how the bullet hit the accused's head, given that police are trained on where to aim. The judges noted that the police should have aimed for the hands or legs.
During the proceedings, the High Court bench stated, 'There were four policemen behind, how is it possible they couldn't subdue a frail man even in the back of a vehicle? Two officers were in the front and two on the sides.'
It's worth noting that Akshay Shinde, who was killed in the police encounter, succumbed to a headshot with severe blood loss as detailed in his post-mortem report.
