Recently, the stars of Bhojpuri cinema created a buzz on The Great Indian Kapil Show. Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwari, and Dinesh Lal Yadav, also known as Nirahua, indulged in lots of fun and laughter. Fans loved this episode, but within their industry, there seems to be discontent. Renowned Bhojpuri actor Manoj Tiger expressed regret over the fact that none of these prominent stars mentioned their fellow artists even once on stage.
Manoj and Ravi Missed an Opportunity
Having been active in Bhojpuri cinema for 25 years and collaborated with nearly all the top superstars, Manoj Tiger expressed his discontent during an interview with Hindi Rush. He highlighted how stars like Ravi Kishan, Pawan Singh, Manoj Tiwari, and Dinesh Lal Yadav seem to forget others when they appear on major platforms like the Kapil Sharma Show. This oversight is contributing to the overshadowing of the Bhojpuri community, a fact often overlooked.
Manoj said, “Sanjay Pandey, Sushil Singh, Prakash Jais, Dev Singh, Vinod Mishra – there are so many names I’m probably forgetting. All come with a background of 25-30 years of theater. We've toiled tirelessly with Pandit Satyadev Dubey, dedicating ourselves solely to the stage. We, the secondary-level artists, haven’t been promoted by the media. Our peers recognize us, calling us exceptional talents. We hold no grudges against Manoj Tiwari, Ravi Kishan, or Dinesh Lal Yadav for attending Comedy with Kapil. It’s great that they get such opportunities.”
“But sometimes we feel let down when, in private, they praise us extensively. Ravi Ji says, 'Manoj Tiger is a phenomenal actor,' but when on a big stage, you refrain from mentioning us. Such a platform could be used to acknowledge talents like Sushil Singh, Manoj Tiger, Sanjay Pandey – there's enough material to keep people laughing till they are on the floor,” he added.
Bhojpuri Actors Feel the Absence
Going further, Manoj vented his frustration: “We all feel that if India saw the remarkable talent in Bhojpuri cinema, they would be amazed. We feel slighted because they are like our elder brothers. They have reached heights, so why not pave the way for younger brothers too? Was it intentional, or just an oversight? If it was an oversight, it’s happened once, twice, maybe thrice, but this feeling of being let down lingers among us actors.”
