The current monsoon session of Parliament enters its second week with a significant discussion on Operation Sindoor. Scheduled for July 28 in the Lok Sabha, the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), has nearly finalized the list of speakers to present the government's perspective. Defense Minister Rajnath Singh may lead the discussion.
Names like Home Minister Amit Shah, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, Nishikant Dubey, and Anurag Thakur are included in the list of speakers. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also expected to intervene in this discussion. In the Rajya Sabha, the debate on Operation Sindoor will begin on Tuesday. Alongside Rajnath Singh, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar and other ministers will partake in the discussion, scheduled for 16 hours in both houses. PM Modi might also contribute to the Rajya Sabha debate.
Regarding the debate on Operation Sindoor, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju stated that everyone knows what transpired in the first week of the monsoon session. He added that several MPs from the opposition requested discussions on the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor before the session commenced, and we were ready for it. Rijiju commented that while we were prepared for the discussion on Operation Sindoor, the opposition began protesting against the rules. Consequently, we could pass only one bill in five days.

Rijiju expressed the desire to pass more bills, but it wasn't possible. He appealed to opposition parties not to disrupt the functioning of the house, emphasizing that the government meticulously prepares responses to MPs' questions. He stated that a special discussion on the government's response to the Pahalgam attack and Operation Sindoor was decided during the Business Advisory Committee meeting today.

Addressing the opposition's demand for PM Modi's statement, the Parliamentary Affairs Minister remarked that the government decides its speaker, not the opposition. The opposition is also aggressively raising the issue of voter list revision in Bihar. According to top government sources, the discussion demand on this in Parliament lacks relevance. They said that only reforms could be discussed in Parliament, not functions of any independent body.
