Before Putin's warning, Ukraine’s President Volodymyr Zelensky announced they would cease attacks on the Kursk region and halt advances towards other Russian cities, including Moscow. However, Putin must engage in a peace agreement with them and return all disputed areas, including Crimea. Zelensky believes that this peace agreement could resolve the conflict.

Meanwhile, Russia has showcased captured NATO and Ukrainian tanks and armored vehicles in Moscow as part of the Army 2024 International Expo. Over in the U.S., White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre acknowledged that Ukraine did not inform the U.S. about the planned attack on the Kursk region before it happened. Russia believes this was a conspiracy by America and NATO.

Biden’s Take: Kursk Attack a Confusing Situation for Putin
U.S. President Joe Biden stated that Ukraine's capture of the Kursk region left Russian President Putin in a state of confusion. It marked a significant success for Ukraine. America remains in constant communication with Kyiv, maintaining coordination.
Ukraine's military commander-in-chief, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that Ukrainian troops have firmly captured 74 locations in the Kursk region, encompassing 40 square kilometers. Major General Apti Alaudinov, commander of Russia's special forces, mentioned that Ukrainian forces have been halted and are no longer advancing. Kursk’s Governor Alexey Smirnov urged locals to remain calm.

In the last 24 hours, Russia has fired 38 drones and two Iskander-M ballistic missiles at Ukraine. Consequently, Ukraine’s air defense systems stayed active and managed to shoot down 30 drones in eight regions.
