In an election, the winds of change can sweep in unexpectedly, until the very last vote is cast. Although this adage often applies to the electorate, it holds equally true for political leaders, as demonstrated in Haryana's ongoing elections. Just about an hour ago, Ashok Tanwar was rallying for votes alongside candidates of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). In an unexpected twist, he has now joined the Congress.
Merely hours before the campaign for Haryana elections concluded, Ashok Tanwar stepped onto the stage of Rahul Gandhi’s rally in Jind and pledged his allegiance to the Congress party. Known for his role as a past president of Haryana Congress, Tanwar's association with Congress is now revitalized. The moment was captured and shared across social media platforms by Congress’s official handle on platform X.
Ashok Tanwar was prominently listed as a star campaigner for BJP in the Haryana election tussle. He was also appointed as a member of the BJP's campaign committee, with his voice fervently backing BJP candidates up until his unexpected turn to Rahul Gandhi's stage. Just an hour before aligning with Congress, Tanwar was active on platform X, showing support for BJP candidates.
Illustrating his former dedication to the party, Ashok Tanwar had earlier posted images from a rally in support of BJP candidate Randhir Panihar from the Nalwa assembly area, exuding confidence in BJP's continued governance under Naib Singh Saini's leadership.
On the very final day of election campaigning, former MP Ashok Tanwar was vocal about supporting BJP contenders. Before appearing on Rahul Gandhi’s rally platform, Tanwar was present on stage at a rally championing BJP candidate Ramkumar Gautam from the Safidon constituency. Photos of this rally were shared widely via his social media handle, now since removed after his shift to Congress.
