The crew of the NASA mission Crew-10 has successfully reached the International Space Station to bring back astronauts Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore, who have been stranded in space for nine months.
Launched from NASA's Kennedy Space Center, the Falcon 9 rocket carried the Dragon spacecraft with Crew-10, including astronauts from the US, Japan, and Russia. The Crew-10 astronauts are set to commence docking operations shortly.
Notably, President Donald Trump expressed considerable interest in bringing Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore home. He entrusted this crucial task to SpaceX's owner, Elon Musk. Recently, Trump remarked that Biden had supposedly left Sunita and Butch Wilmore abandoned in space.
SpaceX had been tasked with addressing this mission, but due to technical issues, the launch was postponed from its original date on March 15. However, the mission finally proceeded. The Crew-10 mission marks the 10th crew rotation under SpaceX's human space transportation system, a collaborative effort between NASA and SpaceX.
Sunita Williams and Butch Wilmore initially traveled to the International Space Station on June 5 last year, expecting to return after a week. Yet, due to issues with the Boeing Starliner, they were delayed. The astronauts were on a joint crew flight test mission from Boeing and NASA. Since then, numerous attempts have been made to bring them back safely.
