Odisha's BJP has made its choice for the next Chief Minister, elevating Mohan Majhi to the esteemed position. Alongside him, two Deputy Chief Ministers have been appointed. Six-time MLA K.V. Singh Deo and newly-elected Pravati Parida will assume the roles of Deputy Chief Ministers.
The selection process for the Chief Minister was overseened by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh and Environment Minister Bhupender Yadav, who were appointed as observers. Both ministers traveled to Odisha to partake in the assembly, where Rajnath Singh confirmed the seal of approval on Mohan Majhi's candidacy.
Mohan Majhi to take oath as CM tomorrow
Mohan Majhi initiated his political journey as a sarpanch from 1997 to 2000. He was first elected to the state assembly in 2000 representing Keonjhar. A four-time MLA, he has been consistently representing the Keonjhar seat. He is a prominent tribal leader for the BJP in the state and will take the oath as Chief Minister on Wednesday. This year, he secured the Keonjhar seat against a BJD candidate with a margin of 11,577 votes.

The next Deputy Chief Ministers of Odisha include K.V. Singh Deo, a scion from a royal lineage hailing from Patnagarh, winning his seat for the sixth time. He previously held a ministerial position in the coalition government between BJP-BJD. Pravati Parida, from the Nimapara constituency, has become a legislator for the first time. She has formerly served as the president of BJP's women's wing in Odisha.
Mohan Majhi to lead Odisha's first BJP government
Mohan Charan Majhi has been elected as the 15th Chief Minister of Odisha. He will lead the state's first BJP government. He was elected to the Odisha assembly as a legislator from Keonjhar in the 2019 elections, having previously represented Keonjhar from 2000 to 2009.

Defense Minister Rajnath Singh disclosed that KV Singh Deo was the first to propose Mohan Majhi's name for Chief Minister, followed by the unanimous applause from the other legislators. Rajnath Singh conveyed that this collective consensus led to the appointment of Mohan Majhi as the leader of Odisha's BJP legislative group.
