Punjab Police have successfully arrested a terrorist associated with Babbar Khalsa International from Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport. This individual, identified as Sachindeep Singh, known as Sachin, hails from Dialpura village in Ajnala, Amritsar. He was involved in the murder case that occurred in Nanded, Maharashtra on February 10, 2025.
DGP Gaurav Yadav of Punjab revealed that Sachin was plotting an escape to Thailand to evade arrest. He traveled from Punjab to Delhi for this reason. However, his plans were thwarted by the Punjab Police, leading to his capture at the airport. Preliminary investigations indicate that Sachindeep Singh played a vital role in the Babbar Khalsa International terrorist network and was linked to several incidents.
Operating under the directions of terrorists Harvinder Singh Rinda in Pakistan and Babbar Khalsa International operative Harpreet Singh aka Happy Passia in the USA, he provided shelter, logistics, and financial support to the organization's operatives and shooters. This arrest follows the capture of key shooter Jagdish Singh alias Jagga and his accomplice Shubhdeep Singh alias Shubh.
These two were apprehended last month with weapons. Previously, in Mohali, Punjab, a gangster associated with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang attempted an escape during a police encounter. During this incident, the gangster received a gunshot wound to the leg and was identified as Malkit alias Maxy. After receiving medical attention, Maxy was sent to jail.
DGP Gaurav Yadav indicated that Maxy, originally from Roadala village in Rajasansi, Amritsar, was an associate of foreign terrorists Goldy Brar and gangster Goldy Dhillon, running an extortion syndicate on their behalf. He was previously arrested under the Arms Act by Patiala Police along with his accomplice Sandeep alias Deep, with numerous cases registered against him.
On Saturday, as part of an ongoing anti-narcotics campaign, Punjab Police conducted raids at 516 locations, arresting 130 drug traffickers. They seized 3.04 kilograms of heroin, 9.3 kilograms of opium, 6,673 intoxicating tablets, and cash amounting to 539,000 rupees. This extensive operation was carried out across all districts under the directives of DGP Gaurav Yadav.
