After disappearing in the wake of his ticket being canceled, Shrinivas Vanga, the MLA from Palghar, Maharashtra, returned home. He arrived at 3 AM after a long 36-hour absence, met with his family, and then departed once more for another two days.
As he left home again, MLA Shrinivas told his family, 'I really need rest.' His homecoming has eased the concerns of both his family and the police.
Family Expressed Concerns
It should be noted that Palghar MLA Shrinivas Vanga disappeared after not receiving a ticket from the Shiv Sena (Shinde faction). The police had been searching for him ever since, but with no clues or leads. His phones were unreachable, causing concern among his family.
Joined Shinde's Party
Vanga was one of the legislators who supported Eknath Shinde and shifted allegiance to the Shinde faction following a party rebellion. After his ticket was canceled, Vanga expressed regret over joining the Shinde faction and leaving Uddhav Thackeray. Angered by the ticket cancellation, Vanga admitted, 'By supporting Eknath Shinde and joining his party, I made a big mistake.'
Contested the 2019 Election with Shiv Sena
Shrinivas Vanga is the son of the late BJP MP Chintaman Vanga. In the 2019 assembly elections, he contested as a candidate of the undivided Shiv Sena from the Palghar (Scheduled Tribe) seat, securing a victory to become an MLA. Following the split in Shiv Sena, he supported Shinde with expectations of being nominated again from this seat.
