In a dramatic sequence, a violent event linked to a love affair unfolded in Shumedi village, situated in Madhya Pradesh's Chhatarpur district. Nearly a dozen attackers arrived on SUVs and motorbikes, invaded the house, and abducted a woman and her child. When opposed, they shot the woman's husband, Hari Ram Prajapati, leaving him seriously injured.

According to reports, the injured Hari Ram was promptly taken to the district hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. A video of the incident has gone viral on social media, showing the attackers charging with sticks and firearms, spreading panic across the village with their gunfire and the residents' cries of alarm.
At the time of the incident, women and children present were thrown into a state of panic. Victim Hari Ram stated that Sanjay Singh Rajput orchestrated the attack with 10-12 accomplices. The assailants first resorted to verbal abuse before unleashing a storm of bullets. The police have collected evidence from the scene and begun the process of identifying and arresting the suspects.
SDOP Navin Dubey of Lavkush Nagar commented that the case appears to be related to a love affair. The police are now probing deeply into the matter to ensure all culprits get arrested and face legal consequences. This attack once again raises questions about the rising violence concerning romantic relationships in villages.
