Exclusive: Only One Person Involved in Kolkata Case, CBI Finds No Gang Rape Evidence

The Kolkata rape and murder case has triggered nationwide protests. The CBI has submitted a status report to the Supreme Court regarding this case. 'Aaj Tak' has received significant information concerning this status report. The CBI’s investigation so far points to the involvement of only one individual, Sanjay Roy, in the rape and murder of the deceased. However, the investigation is still ongoing.

The CBI has reviewed the forensic report. The investigation has revealed that Sanjay Roy raped and then murdered the victim. Therefore, the case indicates the involvement of only one person in the crime, and DNA findings have confirmed Sanjay Roy’s involvement. The CBI has also reviewed CCTV footage, which links Sanjay Roy to the crime. Additionally, the CBI has analyzed the autopsy report.

The CBI’s investigation has revealed that there were lapses on the part of dismissed principal Sandeep Ghosh in this case. The CBI has found evidence of tampering with the crime scene. It has acknowledged that hospital officials handled the matter insensitively, and thus, Sandeep Ghosh faces the threat of arrest.

Moreover, the CBI believes that although all protocols were known, hospital officials, especially the dismissed principal Dr. Sandeep Ghosh, failed to secure the crime scene adequately. Even after being notified about the murder, the then principal Sandeep Ghosh did not act promptly.

The ongoing renovation work at the hospital is also under the CBI’s scrutiny. Sandeep Ghosh is being questioned based on this. The delay in filing the FIR is also under CBI investigation. Besides, the CBI is reviewing the timeline provided by the Kolkata Police.
