In Janakpuri, Delhi, a relentless pursuit of justice unfolds following the tragic demise of 25-year-old biker Kamal Dhyani, who fell into an exposed pit. Rapid police action has resulted in the arrest of a laborer associated with the subcontractor, swirling with allegations of concealing the incident and misleading the grieving family.
According to Deputy Commissioner of Police (West) Sharad Bhaskar, the arrested laborer, identified as 23-year-old Yogesh, allegedly was present at the time of the accident. He was among the early witnesses, aware that the biker had plunged into a 15-foot-deep pit, dug for a sewer project by the Delhi Jal Board.
Reports suggest that Yogesh informed subcontractor Rajesh Kumar Prajapati about the incident during the night, but failed to alert the police or any emergency agency. When the victim's family arrived at the scene searching for answers, Yogesh is accused of leading them astray rather than offering information.

Subsequent to Rajesh Prajapati's arrest, this marks the second such apprehension. Despite knowing about the accident hours before the authorities were informed, Rajesh failed to notify them in time, an oversight resulting in dire consequences.
Presented in Dwarka Court, the police requested a three-day remand of Rajesh, but the duty magistrate granted a one-day police custody instead. Investigations revealed that close to 12:22 AM, Yogesh had contacted Prajapati, summoning his presence to the site within fifteen minutes.
Despite this urgency, the police only became aware of the tragic fall around 8 AM the next morning, by which time Kamal Dhyani had tragically passed away. Initially, a security guard’s alert prompted Yogesh to peer into the pit, where he observed a blazing headlight, a motorcycle, and an individual within.
Kamal Dhyani, a resident of Kailashpuri, worked at a private bank and was returning home from work in the early hours of Friday when disaster struck. His family, plunged into anxiety, searched hospitals, police stations, and surrounding areas throughout the long night but found no trace or record. Mobile location tracking finally led them to Janakpuri.
Hours later, the accident site was finally detected. The Janakpuri police have filed an FIR against the subcontractor and Delhi Jal Board officials under Section 105 of the Indian Penal Code. As investigations deepen, Yogesh’s role is under thorough scrutiny, with future legal actions contingent on emerging evidence.
