Islamabad Police in Amritsar Arrest Drug Dealer, Seize ₹1.1 Million and Arms

Islamabad police in Amritsar have apprehended Lakhwinder Singh alias Lavi Fauji for drug trafficking. Seized from him were ₹1.1 million in drug funds, seven mobile phones, and a pistol. To date, significant quantities of heroin, weapons, vehicles, and drones have been confiscated from 17 suspects linked to this network.

The ongoing campaign against drugs in Punjab has reached another milestone. Under the guidance of Commissioner Gurpreet Singh Bhullar, Islamabad Police Station's team has successfully arrested another suspect during the investigation of a major drug network. Alongside this arrest, the police seized drug money worth ₹1.1 million, seven mobile phones, and a sophisticated pistol.

ADCP Vishaljeet Singh revealed that the detained suspect, Lakhwinder Singh alias Lavi Fauji, son of Vassan Singh, a resident of Noor Shah Wali Gali, Islamabad, Amritsar (currently residing in village Bhukra, Sadar Police Station, Gurdaspur District), was arrested on May 23rd in Kharar, Mohali District. The interrogation of the suspect is providing critical leads to further dismantle the drug network.

According to police records, Lakhwinder Singh, alias Lavi, already has two previous criminal cases against him. His involvement in this gang was corroborated by information from the previously arrested suspect, Sandeep Singh alias Ladi. Sandeep Singh, caught with accomplice Roshan Singh, had already been found with large quantities of narcotics and weapons.

To date, 17 suspects have been detained in connection with this case, yielding a total of 22.5 kilograms of heroin, ₹2.3 million in drug money, seven pistols, drones, three computer keys, four luxury cars, nine 9mm rifles, ten .30 bore pistols, a note counting machine, mobile phones, and other electronic devices.

ADCP detailed that this network is armed with advanced technology and weaponry, with potential ties to interstate smuggling. Police are intensifying their investigation efforts to completely dismantle this network from its roots.
