In a horrific terrorist attack on April 22 in Baisaran, Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, 26 individuals lost their lives, and 17 were wounded. This act of terror, targeting innocent tourists, has sparked national outrage. Indian cricketers have expressed deep sorrow and many advocate for a firm response.
The cricket fraternity united in sympathy with the victims, standing against terrorism. Cricketers like Shubman Gill, Gautam Gambhir, Parthiv Patel, Aakash Chopra, Manoj Tiwary, Yuvraj Singh, Ishant Sharma, Irfan Pathan, and Suresh Raina voiced condemnation. Head Coach Gautam Gambhir insisted on justice for those behind the attack.
Former captain Sourav Ganguly and Yuvraj Singh deemed the attack disgraceful, underscoring the wrongful nature of such incidents. On social media, Harbhajan Singh emphasized the need for a strong counteraction against terror.
Shubman Gill tweeted, 'Heartbroken to hear about the attack in Pahalgam. My prayers are with the victims and their families. Such violence has no place in our country.'
Ishant Sharma shared: 'Devastated and shocked by the attack on innocent tourists in Pahalgam. I love Kashmir's beauty and peace, and this event deeply saddens me. My thoughts are with the victims and families; we must unite against such violence.'
Former cricketer Manoj Tiwary also expressed sorrow over the Pahalgam attack, tweeting, 'My condolences to the families who lost their loved ones. This tragedy is unbearable.'

Remarkably, this terrorist attack took place at a popular tourist spot in Baisaran Valley, Pahalgam, Anantnag, South Kashmir. At around 2:45 PM, six terrorists launched an attack on tourists, leading to the tragic demise of 26 out of 45 tourists.
