IPL 2026 Auction:

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 player mini-auction took place on Tuesday, December 16, at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi. All ten franchise teams, along with fans and participating players, eagerly anticipated this mini-auction. The auction saw a substantial amount of money being bid on players.

A total of 369 players were shortlisted for this IPL mini-auction, but only 77 players were sold. Among them were 48 Indian and 29 foreign stars. The franchise teams collectively spent a whopping 215.45 crore rupees during the auction.

The most expensive player of the mini-auction was Australian all-rounder Cameron Green, who was acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders for a colossal 25.20 crore rupees. Among foreign players, Matheesha Pathirana was the second most expensive, also acquired by the Kolkata Knight Riders. Among Indian players, Prashant Veer and Karthik Sharma were the top picks, bought by the Chennai Super Kings for an equal 14.20 crore rupees each.

  • Anrich Nortje (South Africa) - 2 crore rupees, Lucknow Super Giants

  • Ravi Bishnoi - 7.20 crore rupees, Rajasthan Royals
