Delhi's Innings Analysis
While aiming for 205, Delhi's start was shaky. Anukul Roy swiftly removed Abhishek Porel in the very second ball of the first over. Following this, Karun Nair departed in the 5th over, contributing only 15 runs, falling prey to Vaibhav Arora. Hopes rested on KL Rahul, yet he was run out in the 7th over after scoring just 7 runs. However, Axar Patel and Faf du Plessis shared a strong partnership later on, but not for long as Narine first sent Axar back to the pavilion after an impressive 43-run knock. The final blow came with Faf's dismissal in Narine's last, the match's 16th over, despite his commendable 62-run effort. Reeling under these setbacks, Delhi was bowled out for 190, sealing their defeat.
KKR's Batting Performance
Kolkata Knight Riders' opening duo, Gurbaz and Sunil Narine, provided a blazing start. The partnership, however, was broken at 48 runs as Gurbaz was dismissed in the 3rd over. Subsequently, captain Rahane departed with 26 runs, and soon after, Venkatesh Iyer was dismissed in the 10th over, continuing his dismal performance with just 7 runs. By the end of ten overs, KKR stood at 117-4. A notable 61-run partnership ensued between Rinku Singh and Ankkrish Raghuvanshi, which ended in the 17th over when Raghuvanshi was out for 44 runs. Shortly after, Singh followed with a score of 36 runs. A brisk cameo by Russell in the later overs ensured KKR posted a challenging 205-run target for Delhi.
