In Maharashtra's Gadchiroli district, Naxalites brutally murdered a man in broad daylight on suspicion of being a police informer. The Naxalites committed this harrowing act during the week they are commemorating Martyrs' Week, while the police are conducting anti-Naxal operations in the state.
An officer from Gadchiroli district police reported that the incident occurred on Tuesday, identifying the deceased as 40-year-old Lalu Durva, who resided in the Mirgudvancha area of Bhamragarh tehsil.
According to the police officer, on July 30th, several Naxalites dragged Durva out of his home and killed him in public. They left a letter beside his body, accusing him of being a police informer.
It is worth noting that between July 28th and August 3rd, Naxalites are observing Martyrs' Week in the Naxal-affected areas. In response, Gadchiroli police have heightened vigilance and intensified the anti-Naxal campaign. This incident has left the local population in fear.
