The political landscape in Bihar is abuzz with the anticipated entry of Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's son, Nishant Kumar, into politics. Even the opposition acknowledges Nishant's potential, lauding him as a savior of the JDU. Traditionally aloof from politics and media, Nishant now appears to be gravitating towards the political realm. Whether it is accompanying his father in public gatherings or appealing for votes in favor of the NDA alliance, everything points towards Nishant's political debut.
Why is Nishant Kumar's Political Entry Under Discussion?
Typically vocal critics of the NDA and JDU, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav surprisingly praised Nishant Kumar. While he asserts that Bihar's populace will establish an 'NDA-free' government in the 2025 assembly elections, with the NDA lacking vision or a roadmap, he simultaneously acknowledged Nishant as essential to prevent JDU's decline. Tejashwi posited that internal 'Sangh elements' might deter Nishant's political initiation due to their disfavor with the BJP and its supporters.
In addition, Nishant Kumar is beginning to appear at public events with his father, Nitish Kumar. During an event marking his mother Manju Sinha's birthday, Nishant spoke of JDU's success. Moreover, his images are being prominently displayed at JDU offices.
Who is Nishant Kumar?
Nishant Kumar is the only son of Nitish Kumar and Manju Sinha, born on July 20, 1975. Nishant's mother, Manju Sinha, was a schoolteacher who passed away in 2007 after battling a prolonged illness. At 49, Nishant Kumar remains unmarried.
