Before attending the AI Impact Summit 2026, French President Emmanuel Macron paid his respects at Delhi's iconic Gurdwara Bangla Sahib, spending time with devotees, symbolizing the growing ties between India and France. Images of his visit went viral on social media, showing him as both a global leader and a devotee. The management of Gurdwara Bangla Sahib gave him special attention, making the visit memorable. He observed the Sikh community's traditions and prayed with deep devotion.

Earlier on the tour, he also visited other religious sites in Delhi like the Nizamuddin Dargah.

Macron's Official Visit to India

President Macron is on an official visit to India from February 17 to 19. He will be the chief guest at the India AI Impact Summit 2026, where he will discuss the future of AI, responsible development, and global collaboration with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, and several global tech leaders. Macron described the summit as a pivotal step from dialogue on AI to real-world impact. This summit is expected to bring new dimensions to technical cooperation between India and France. However, visiting Bangla Sahib became a significant part of his trip amid diplomatic exchanges.

Bilateral Talks Before the Summit

Macron held several bilateral meetings with Prime Minister Modi before participating in the AI Summit, including discussions on defense, space, AI, and innovation. He also launched the India-France Year of Innovation 2026. On social media, Macron shared AI-generated images highlighting the friendship between the two leaders. Visiting Gurdwara Bangla Sahib is a beautiful example of Macron appreciating India's cultural and religious significance. Located near Connaught Place, this gurdwara is connected to the Sikh community's ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji. Its sacred pond and langar are world-famous, providing free meals to thousands daily.
