The district administration has proactively initiated precautionary measures. Cuddalore's District Collector, Sibi Aditya Senthil Kumar, highlighted that 22 highly sensitive and 39 sensitive areas prone to flooding have been identified.

He reported that essential equipment and personnel, including motors, have been pre-deployed in these areas to ensure swift water drainage. Additionally, 233 relief camps have been established, ready to accommodate people if necessary, providing them with food and water facilities.

The collector stated that although the rains haven't started yet, evacuation hasn't begun, but all relief centers are fully prepared, capable of sheltering approximately 1.5 lakh people. Government hospitals across the district are equipped with backup power, sufficient medications, and available medical staff. Doctors are committed to 24/7 duty.

The list of pregnant women expecting deliveries in the next two weeks has been prepared in advance, according to the collector. The 24x7 control room at the district collectorate is active, and a helpline number 1077 is available, which promptly addresses complaints.
